Ricardo loves learning about new writers and promoting literacy for children and adults. His work has appeared, or is forthcoming, in Perceptions Magazine, Willa Cather Review, The Seattle Star, Other Wordly Women Press, and in several Nebraska Writers Guild anthologies. In 2017, he was one of 12 finalists in the We Need Diverse Books’ Picture Book contest. In 2020, he received the Peter K. Hixson Memorial Award in poetry. His newest project is translating poetry from Spanish to English for the Croatian Ministry of Culture in Zagreb, Croatia. Currently a copywriter, Ricardo is a former director of nonprofit education programs and has appeared in television and radio interviews for various non-profits. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling; learning how to say “good morning” in as many languages as possible; and hanging out with the spirit of Willa Cather in Red Cloud, Nebraska.
