Seretta, managing editor of the San Diego Poetry Annual (SDPA) and co-editor of Synesthesia Literary Journal, is the author of several poetry books including her forthcoming, Overtaking Glass, which is a finalist in the Philip Levine award and Washington Prize. Her writing has appeared in Serving House Journal, Web Del Sol, Poetry International, Margie, Modern Haiku, A Year in Ink, and San Diego Poetry Annual, among others.
Seretta’s passion is helping others express themselves through poetry and art. As a hospice volunteer she transcribes the patients’ words while giving respite to their caregivers. She teaches poetry at San Diego Writers, Ink, Border Voices Poetry Project, California Poets in the Schools and KIDS SDPA. She serves as co-hosts on ITV shows, and curates readings at libraries and symposiums. She publishes books for poets through Blue Vortex Publishers. Seretta has an MFA in Creative Writing from San Diego State University. Hailing from the Mission Trails area of San Diego County, Seretta lives in the foothills with her musician son, Jason, a red Maine Coon, Molly and a loveable old dog (boxer), Sugar Rae.
