As an actor, writer, and Artistic Director of The Roustabouts Theatre Co., Phil has produced or directed over a dozen plays and plays on film. He has performed his original one man show, A Jewish Joke, co-written with Marni Freedman, across the country to rave reviews, all the way to Off-Broadway; his other original shows include Roosevelt: Charge The Bear (also with Marni Freedman), Withering Heights, She-Rantulas from Outer Space in 3D!, (both published) and The Hound of the Baskervilles. Onstage, Phil played in Les Misérables on Broadway, and toured with the productions of Sunset Boulevard and Miss Saigon. He is a founder of the new San Diego Theatre Alliance. He has taught and produced with Marni Freedman a Solo Show Workshop for writer/performers that was part of The Roustabouts season.
