I’m Emily:

Get to Know Me!

April 17, 2025
Hello! I’m Emily Greenberg, the new Programs and Exhibitions Coordinator at San Diego Writers, Ink.  I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and received a BA in English and a BFA in Fine Art from Cornell University. After college, I moved to NYC, worked in academic and trade publishing, and joined the wonderful Greenpoint Writers Group, where I workshopped many short stories. Eventually, I decided to return to school for my MFA in Creative Writing at the Ohio State University. While at Ohio State, I completed a book-length fiction manuscript that would eventually become my first book and taught both creative and critical writing.  After graduating, I taught writing at Columbus College of Art & Design and then eventually decided to return to school yet again for my MFA in Visual Art at UC San Diego. At UCSD, I further developed my practice as a media artist and experimental filmmaker while teaching courses in digital media, film history, speculative design, and video production. After graduating this past December, my debut short story collection, Alternative Facts, was published by Kallisto Gaia Press. Like most small press authors, I had to do all my own publicity, which has kept me busy! Now that the book tour is over, I’m looking forward to resting a bit, diving into my work with SDWI, and preparing for NextGen 2025, a group art show for recently graduated San Diego artists that will take place June 21-August 31 at ICA San Diego.
