Cancellation & Refunds

San Diego Writers, Ink aims to provide a diverse range of programs, including classes, workshops, and groups. We work to ensure that our programs are not cancelled. However, programs must meet minimum levels of registration in order to be held. In order to give each of our programs as much chance as possible in succeeding, we put this off as long as possible in order to accommodate last-minute registrations. In the event a program needs to be cancelled, we try to notify you no later than 24 hours before the scheduled start time. If you must cancel after registering, please notify us immediately.

  • If the program is cancelled by San Diego Writers, Ink, 100% of the registration fee will be refunded.
  • If notice of cancellation is received at least 72 hours prior to the start of the program, participants will receive a refund minus a processing fee that is based on the type of course that they signed up for: $5 for a one day course, $10 for a multi-session course.
  • If notice of cancellation is received within 72 hours of the start of the program, participants will receive 50% of the registration fee paid.
  • Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made the day of the program.

Refunds can take seven to ten days and are generally processed twice a week. They may show they come from PayPal as they process our refunds for us. If you have any questions about the status of your program, please contact us.


We prefer that you pay for your class, workshop, or group online by credit card when you register. If you cannot, you may mail a check to us or bring a check or cash with you to the event. If you do not attend, you are still required to pay for the course and will be sent a bill. 


Our instructors and group hosts are paid per attendee and must decide to run their program based on registration numbers 24 hours before the program begins. Please note, if you are paying by credit card you will need to pay online or arrange for staff to talk to you by phone. Our instructors and hosts are not able to access the credit card payment system.


When you register for a program, you will receive a receipt with a link to our evaluation form. Please fill it out after you have completed the program. We would love to hear from you!
