We feature work by local artists of many different mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media.
Inspirations is both the location where we hold programs and classes and a gallery space where we showcase our quarterly art shows. In its eleventh year, the gallery has featured both group and solo exhibitions by artists who work in a variety of mediums. A collection of animals and whimsy captured in water color and acrylics
My art originated as doodles on notes to survive the incomprehension I felt while listening to my H.S. Algebra teacher explain x and y. Now I do it to survive the incomprehension I feel toward the world… but also for fun. As a recovering perfectionist, my art works best when I let go of control and the way it needs to look, and just get into that playful state that makes art possible. Some of my work is done with my eyes closed, my non-dominant hand, or an attitude of laissez-faire. My main objectives are to preserve the enchantment of childhood, escape the weirdness in the world, and give the viewer a smile. It’s a departure from reality into the realm of whimsy, tongue-in-cheek stories, and amusement. Also to say, “I’m still here.”
